HVAC Installation Costs

Installation costs can vary depending on the type of HVAC system you are choosing to install in your home.

Your price range will depend on a variety of things including, the brand you pick, the size of the system you may need, as well as the size of your home.

Installation costs can further vary depending on if your home has an existing HVAC system, or if this is a completely new system being installed.

There are four common HVAC systems. They consist of:

  1. Standard Split System:

This is the most common HVAC system.

Price can vary depending on size.

Smaller systems can cost anywhere between $700 and $850, whereas larger systems can cost anywhere from $2400 and up.

It is important to do your research on the kind and size of the split system you want. This can vary depending on the size of your home.

Outside of the system itself, you must account for the installation fee. This can again vary depending on the technician you hire, and the size of the system.

On average, technicians can charge anywhere from $600 to $800.

It is a good idea to shop around and get different quotes before committing.

  1. Ductless Split System:

Much like the Standard Split System, the cost of a Ductless Split System will vary depending on:

The size you choose

The size of your home

How many systems do you want to be installed?

These systems can often range from as little as $2000 and can go up to cost $16 000.

This again, can depend on your choice in brand, size, and home.

On Average, a Ductless HVAC system including installation fees, can cost $4500.

However, on the extreme budget-friendly side, you can get a Ductless HVAC system installed for $2000.

If you are looking to purchase and install a higher-end Ductless HVAC system, you will be looking to pay $9500 or more.

  1. Packaged Systems:

Packaged systems are on the more expensive side. However, unlike your standard split system, they are often more versatile and long-lasting, as well as more aesthetically pleasing.

Packaged HVAC systems can start anywhere from $4000 for a smaller system and increase to $10 000 or more depending on how large of a system you may need.

Installation of a Packaged HVAC system can cost anywhere from $5000, and range up to $30 000.

If you have the average two-bedroom home, installation of your Packaged HVAC system can cost an approximate amount of $6000.

It is important to shop around and get a handful of quotes before committing.

  1. Hybrid Systems:

Hybrid systems can cost anywhere from $4500 and range up to $10 000, this is including installation.

Although more expensive to have installed, Hybrid systems are more energy-saving and cost-efficient over time, which can therefore make up for the initial expense.

When considering installing a new HVAC system for your home, continue to consider what suits your home best and what system would be the most functional for your home environment.
